A results-driven software development manager, Trevor Borthwick has extensive experience as a senior analyst, programmer, and systems consultant. He began his career in 1989 with the Philips Information Technology Division in Dubai, followed by more than a decade at HP Canada in Toronto. Trevor Borthwick subsequently held leadership roles, including senior technical specialist and software development manager for enterprise content management shared services at the Bank of Montreal (BOM).
Next, Trevor Borthwick concluded his tenure at BOM, spending over 12 years as the company’s senior technology officer and development manager for emerging technologies. He led a 15-person team comprising developers and business analysts through several major projects, including a large-scale document migration following BOM’s acquisition of another bank. Trevor Borthwick also played a leading role in BOM’s AWS cloud adoption initiative, enabling the company to modernize its application infrastructure and embrace cloud-first strategies. He received the prestigious BMO Best of the Best Award multiple times in recognition of his leadership and performance in technology delivery and innovation.
Trevor Borthwick earned a degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay. He graduated with first-class distinction. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys practicing Tai Chi and Chi Kung, which hones his focus and discipline.
